Transformation

The Ascendis Health group recognises that economic growth and societal transformation is integral to creating an equitable society and that business has a critical role in enabling this transformation. As such, we are fully supportive of the government’s measures to facilitate effective transformation in South Africa.

Our approach involves: Investing significantly in learning and development opportunities for both our employees as well as other South Africans. Encouraging internal transformation by bringing about greater diversity and representivity in our workplace. Hence we have also set ambitious targets to improve the employment equity profile at various management levels.

Our transformation initiatives are driven and are supported by our board and our Social, Ethics and Transformation Committee which provides oversight of the group’s activities in the fields of transformation, human capital and sustainability.

We are committed to ongoing transformation and have made meaningful progress in this regard, with our B-BBEE rating, improving from a level 5 in 2018 to a level 1 in 2019.
